Session Schedule

Jesus goes before us all in this life, death and eternal life. Just as Jesus prepared for forty days in the desert to begin his public ministry, we prepare for forty days to fully live this gift that is our Christian Baptism.

Week 1:

The Journey: We start by sharing our various journeys home to the Lord. Why did we leave? Why did we return? This confidential discussion helps identify opportunities for one-on-one follow up since our individual stories are as unique as our fingerprints. Attendees are encouraged to share their journeys but are never required to do so.

Week 2:

The Way: How returning Catholics can grow in faith in the 21st Century and even lead some of our most important ministries. How are we each called in our different ways to love and serve the Lord?

Week 3:

The Signs: Jesus personally gave us his Sacraments as outward signs of his love and grace to help us grow in faith. This session will emphasize the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the gateway to the Lord’s most important Sacrament: the Holy Eucharist.

Week 4:

The Word: Jesus reveals His divine plan for us through Holy Scripture in the Old and New Testaments and the Catholic Catechism. This session begins a deep dive into the mystical encounter with Jesus that is freely available to us each day and week: The Mass.

Week 5:

The Creed: We continue our in-depth discussion of The Mass by unpacking, word-by-word, this amazing summary of what we Catholics believe about our Creator, the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Week 6:

The Eucharist: We conclude our discussion of the Mass and the six-week WHC series by exploring in depth this most sacred mystery that the Catholic Catechism calls “the source and summit of the Christian life.” Holy Communion is how we are fed to strengthen us to “go in peace to love and serve the Lord and one another.”
